Astro-COLIBRI v2.21.0 is now available!
We’re excited to announce the release of Astro-COLIBRI v2.21.0, now available on web, Android, and iOS! This update brings new transient alerts, expanded API capabilities, and several improvements to event search and user configuration.
New Features & Enhancements
-
New Transients Added :
- Transients registered via the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams (CBAT) are now being added automatically to Astro-COLIBRI. You can filter them via the General/Broker filter. Possible nova and supernova events are announced via the relevant push notifications.
- SVOM notices announcing new GRB detections with the ECLAIRs instrument are now included. See here for details. These alerts are also sent as push notifications to the GRB stream.
- Gravitational wave alerts now include mergers with at least one sub-solar mass object.
-
API Updates :
- The visibility calculation endpoint (/visibility_plots_detailed) now returns detailed parameters of visibility windows in addition to the created figure. This data (in JSON format) is also directly accessible via the web interface.
- New catalog endpoints : Search TeVCat and Fermi-LAT 4FGL sources directly via dedicated API endpoints (/tevcat & /fermi). Check out our interactive notebook for examples to get you started!
-
New Public Outreach Page: We’ve added a dedicated page on our website showcasing our public events & outreach activities.
-
Enhanced TOM (Target and Observation Manager) Integration : Users can now configure new TOMs within the interface: the frontend and backend dynamically support BHTOM and customized TOM integrations
-
Improvements & Bug Fixes
-
Event Search Enhancements : You can now load the time period around a selected event directly in the web search interface
-
More User Controls : added an option to change the default reset time by long-pressing the reset timeline button which is located left of the event timeline (web interface) and between the start/stop date selectors in Menu/Filters&Legend (mobile interface).
-
New External Link : a direct link to radio observations with the VLBA wtihin the MOJAVE program are now displayed for covered TeVCat and 4FGL AGN sources
-
Events observed within the Kilonova-Catcher network of amateur astronomers are now identified and can be selected with a new filter in General/Follow-up
