Astro-COLIBRI v2.18.0 is Here!
We’re excited to announce the release of Astro-COLIBRI v2.18.0, bringing several new features, additional catalogs, and significant improvements to enhance your multi-messenger astronomy experience!
What’s New in v2.18.0:
- Smart Home Integration: Astro-COLIBRI can now connect to your smart home devices to provide visual alerts for incoming notifications, making it easier to stay up to date in real time. A full description and setup guidelines are available here: Smart Home Integration
- Expanded Optical Transients Collection: We have added all known classified optical transients from the IAU Transient Name Server, covering everything prior to our earlier 01/2022 start date. The historical data will enrich your research with more context and completeness.
- New Alert Stream: We’ve added a new alert stream for IceCube neutrino searches in coincidence with gravitational waves detected by the LVK collaboration. These notifications are now available in the “neutrino” stream.
- New Catalogs for Cone Searches:
- High-Mass X-ray Binaries (HMXB) from HMXBwebcat
- Low-Mass X-ray Binaries (LMXB) from LMXBwebcat
Minor Improvements & Bug Fixes:
- Resolved a color issue on the forum login screens.
- Improved the timeline display for short time ranges and single-day selections.
- Added an option to select the start time of the GW tiling schedule calculation.
- Activated notifications for Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) detected by Einstein Probe.
We hope these updates make your experience with Astro-COLIBRI even more efficient and insightful. We’re always working to make the platform better, so if you have any feedback or suggestions, please let us know!
Happy Observing!
