API magnitudes

Hello,

I wish I could have some explanation on the results I retrieve from the API.

Let’s take an example: AT 2025acft
According to the GUI, it’s mentionned

This magnitude looks to be the very first measured mag retrieved from the TNS:

This mag has nothing to do with the subsequent magnitudes (from ZTF and ATLAS wrt their filters in this case) present in the json file and in the light curve.

The 14.93 figure is identified by

transient_flux 14.93
in the json file.

So the question:

Either in the GUI version and json file, would it be interesting to mention the filter used at the moment of the discovery?

Could this help observers explain any discrepancies between their measurements and the original measurements?

The filter information of the detection magnitudes is indeed useful additional information. We’ll add it to our internal dataformat and it should become available with the next release.
